Videotape Transfer to DVD and MP4
Image of stacks of VHS tapes

Chances are your videotape collection looks something like this. Because videotape is magnetic, they are slowly degrading a little each day. It’s also becoming more and more difficult to find good working VCRs and most new TVs do not have legacy video connections to hook them up, even if you find one.

Our DVDs play on any DVD or Bluray player and most computer DVD players (you do need DVD playback software on a computer)

Safely transfer decades of memories to DVD. You’ll get cleanly labeled discs in full size labeled DVD cases (we copy as much of your hand written descriptions to the disc and case as we can). We also label the case spine so you can identify it easily.

Q&A on Video to DVD

Each tape goes on its own DVD to assure the best possible quality transfer. In addition, we can properly label the case with what you have written on the tape and also print the DVD with the same information.

Up to 2 hours of high quality video fits on a standard DVD. While it is possible to fit more, the quality suffers greatly.

Yes. We have the ability to transfer any format of video from any source to DVD.

While the DVD itself cannot be edited or modified, the information on it can be ripped, edited and re-encoded to another DVD. We do offer this service at $65 per hour and we invite our customers to sit in on the edit session.

Copyright restrictions  prohibit such transfers. In addition, Copyguard encription prohibits the transfer to other formats.

Please allow up to 10 days to complete your project. Very large projects may take a bit longer.

Unfortunately no. The finalizing process closes the disc and disallows any further recording. Generally, DVDs must be finalized in the machine they were recorded on or one of the same brand make and model. We are able to finalize DVDs created in Sony standalone recorders as well as mini DVDs from Sony DVD camcorders.
